A simple baseline test which focuses on student’s prior knowledge of Art from Primary School learning - looking at the 6 visual elements (colour, texture, line, tone and pattern). Additionally - a transition sheet with key terms and small tasks for students to complete, the idea is to ease them into secondary Art learning and provide basic art’s knowledge on what they will be studying for the year ahead.

Assessment covers all year 7 topics, such as the visual elements of art: Colour theory, texture, line, tone, shape and pattern. With artist references and theory questions for Colour theory, artist knowledge and understanding of key words, such as with tonal shading. Artists covered include: Nikki Farquharson, Vincent Van Gogh, Wassilly Kandinsky and Henri Matisse. Assessments complete with grade boundaries and boxes for students to self-evaluated (whats working well, what to improve/work on before my next assessment). Answers booklet also included for teacher marking.

End of year 8 assessment - topics include, Cubism, Artist analysis and research skills, Surrealism, portrait drawing and portrait theory. A good assessment for SOW surrounding abstract, identity or projects centered around either Cubism or Surrealism. Pack includes student assessment (blank) and a teacher copy with answers for marking, assessment layout includes grade boundaries and self-evaluation boxes for students to assess their marks/skills upon return of teacher marking.

Also Portrait drawing and proportion questions - a good end of term test for SOW around either identity, Cubism or abstract. Student test copies and answer sheet for teachers included.
